The Who, What, When, Where, and Why of Emotional Eating with Dr. Dayna Lee-Baggley
The Who, What, When, Where, and Why of Emotional Eating
A science-based ACT webinar series with Dr. Dayna Lee-Baggley
Have you ever found yourself standing in front of the fridge after a stressful day, reaching for snacks after an argument, or eating when you’re not physically hungry but emotionally exhausted?
Emotional eating is incredibly common. Food can temporarily soothe stress, numb difficult emotions, provide comfort, or offer relief from overwhelm. The problem is that it often leaves people feeling frustrated, stuck, or disconnected from the health and life they actually want.
In this practical and compassionate two-part webinar series, Dr. Dayna will help you better understand the psychology of emotional eating through the lens of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), a science-backed approach to behaviour change.
Rather than focusing on guilt, willpower, or rigid food rules, this workshop will help you understand why emotional eating happens and how to respond to cravings, emotions, and urges more effectively.
Some of What You'll Learn:
- Why emotional eating happens and why it makes sense psychologically.
- Common emotional eating triggers including stress, loneliness, boredom, overwhelm, and self-criticism.
- How thoughts, emotions, and cravings can "hook" us into eating patterns.
- Practical, ACT-based skills to respond differently to urges without relying on willpower alone.
What You’ll Receive:
- 2 Live 60 min Zoom sessions with Dr. Dayna
- Downloadable key slides and practical handouts
- Evidence-based ACT tools you can immediately apply in real life
- Opportunities for reflection and skill-building between sessions
